Keep it fun, keep it light

Free, but still 19+. Here’s why

Social casino games look, sound and move like real gambling. Turtle Surf Bay is only for adults over the legal gambling age and isn’t aimed at anyone under 19. You confirm your age twice: on the banner that pops up when you arrive, and with a tick when you set up your account.

What the bay will never do

• No real-money gambling, offered or promoted.
• No prizes of real-world value.
• No coin sales and no in-app purchases.
• No sending you off to gambling operators or affiliates.
• No countdowns or streaks nudging you to come back.

Straight from Pono

A free game can be set to feel generous, and it tops your balance up for nothing. Real-money games won’t do either. Winning here tells you nothing about how you’d get on with real money at stake.

Warning signs on the tide chart

• Sessions running way past what you planned.
• Getting cranky when you stop.
• Using the game to dodge a bad mood.
• It’s cutting into sleep, work or time with people.
• Hunting around for a version with real money.

Staying on top of it

• Pick a stop time before you start.
• Skip autoplay.
• Take a break every so often.
• Clear this site’s data to reset it all, or block the site in your device settings if you want to quit for good.
